Which apps does Nimo work in?
Anywhere you can type: mail, notes, chats, documents, search fields and browsers. Nimo writes into the focused field. For web and Electron apps that don't accept direct input, turn on extended compatibility and Nimo types the text for you, without using your clipboard.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Speech is recognized on your Mac. The only downloads are the ones you ask for: a language pack from macOS, or the optional Parakeet speech model.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. Translate and rewrite use Apple Intelligence when it's turned on.
Can it type into password fields?
Never. Nimo refuses protected fields before the microphone even turns on.
Can I choose a different key?
Yes. Hold right Option by default, or pick right Command, fn, or your own key combination. Esc cancels while Nimo is listening.
